Aesthetic Medicine and Wellness is the most rapidly growing field of medicine in the United States – and certainly one of the most exciting ones! But how can you decide if this field is the right one for you? The RESTOR Academy Shadow Day Course is designed to help you answer that question by giving you a “peak behind the curtain” of what a day in the life of an Aesthetic Provider is really like.
Students will have opportunities to talk with Senior staff at their RESTOR Location about the realities of life as an aesthetic provider and get all their questions about moving into this exciting field answered! You will also be able to observe a variety of procedures and see our patient’s amazing transformations.
This course is designed to provide our students with a solid grounding in the science of the aging process, and an understanding of how we can use the various tools in our aesthetic toolbox to truly make aging optional for our patients – on the outside and inside both! Students will be assigned online training modules before their shadow day to give them the background they will need to understand the “why” behind the procedures they will observe, and to get the most out of their experience with us!
The curriculum will include: an overview of facial anatomy, differentiating toxins – dosage strength, review of reconstitution, review of complications, and management of patient expectations. Instruction and one-on-one hands-on training will focus exclusively on botulinum toxin injections for glabellar (frown) lines and crow’s feet with an introduction to more complex techniques of the lower face and neck.
You will be contacted by a RESTOR Academy Trainer to schedule your shadow day. This call will include a discussion of your goals for the day and the types of procedures you would like to observe.
Your Trainer will assign you online study modules. At RESTOR Academy we believe that understanding the medical “why” and “how” behind the procedures we do helps our students get the most lasting benefit from their Shadow Day.

Please Note: RESTOR Shadow days are designed to give our students a realistic look at a career in Aesthetics. We try to prioritize the procedures that our students are most interested in – but since these are actual patients (and not models) we cannot guarantee that people will not no-show, cancel, or otherwise change their treatment plan. Therefore – we do NOT guarantee that you will see any specific procedure during your shadow day.
Shadow days are designed to give students an overview of what life and work as an Aesthetic Nurse is actually like. You will observe procedures, and have ample time to ask our staff any questions that you’d like about the medicine, lifestyle and training that goes into being an Aesthetic Injector – but no, you will not be allowed to perform hands-on procedures.
A: This course is designed for nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and physicians who are interested in making the step from bedside medicine to Aesthetic medicine. Specifically – you do not need to have any previous aesthetic experience to take this course.
A: When we schedule your shadowing hours we will discuss with you what types of procedures you are most interested in observing – and make an effort to schedule you for times when those procedures are scheduled. In addition – on any given day we typically have 2-3 providers at each of our locations – giving you a great deal of flexibility to pick the procedures you are most interested in. However – as we are treating actual patients in a busy medical practice there is always the possibility that appointments will move or be rescheduled. Because of this – we cannot guarantee that you will be able to observe any one specific procedure.
A: As part of your online modules before your shadow day, you will learn the underlying science of the aging process, as well as the basics of each of the main classes of aesthetic procedures used to address the most common aesthetic concerns you will encounter in your daily practice. Specifically you will be introduced to Neuromodulator injections, Dermal Fillers, Resurfacing lasers, Microneedling, and Pigment Lasers such as Laser Hair Removal and IPL/BBL.
A: Absolutely! At RESTOR we feel that our staff are our greatest resource! We encourage you to ask as many questions as you can. While understanding the medicine is foundational – we know there are many other concerns that come into choosing a career path and we encourage you to discuss this with our staff during your time with us!
A: All sales are final – and you must complete your shadow day within 60 days of your purchase. If you are unable to complete your shadowing hours before 60 days have passed – you can transfer to a future date for a $200 rescheduling fee. You can only reschedule your class one time before you will forfeit your full tuition.

A: Exceptional students may, at the discretion of their instructor, be nominated for a Clinical Internship or a position at RESTOR Medical Spa. There is no guarantee of a position after the successful completion of a class – but at RESTOR we prefer to hire from our student or intern pool.
A: Your training, should you be accepted as an Intern at RESTOR Medical Spa will mirror the actual training that we offer to our new hires. Typical Clinical Internships are a part-time (10-12 hr/wk) commitment that lasts between 6-8 weeks, consisting of a mixture of online training modules, hands-on training days, and shadowing our senior clinical team during patient treatments. Your specific schedule will be set before your Clinical Internship starts.
A: The Clinical Internship does not guarantee employment with RESTOR – but we prefer to hire qualified individuals from our intern pool.
