RESTOR medical grade facials include dermaplane - what is that?

Dermaplaning is a skin resurfacing and exfoliating procedure used to remove the thin, top, outer layer of skin (dead epidermal cells) and fine, soft hairs. It is performed using a special surgical blade to gently scrape away that top layer of problem skin – improving fine lines and revealing smoother, healthier skin. Treatments take approximately 20 minutes, are painless, and can be done every 4 weeks.

RESTOR medical grade facials may include a customized chemical peel - what does that mean?

Your medical-grade facials in Denver may include a light chemical peel which will be customized to your skin type and goals. During the peel, you will feel mild tingling or sensation of prickly heat. These are light peels – you may experience light “face dandruff” but no true peeling. This medical-grade exfoliation will leave your skin smooth and glowing!

What products can I use on my skin after my medical grade facial?

Hold any retinol or Retin-A containing products, or active products such as glycolic acid, lactic acid, or salicylate for 3 to 4 days. Be careful to use sunscreen liberally for the next week as your skin has been exfoliated and may be more sensitive to sunburn than normal.

What can I expect after my medical grade facial?

Because Medical Grade Exfoliation is non-invasive, it has a low risk of complications and is one of the safest skin rejuvenation procedures available. Some patients report redness or dry feeling in their skin after a treatment, but this is temporary. Typical care following your Medical Grade Exfoliation includes using moisturizers and sunscreens and avoiding sun exposure for a few days. There is no downtime for this “lunch hour” procedure, and most people return to their regular activities immediately.

What should I not expect from my medical grade facial?

Medical-grade facials in Denver can improve or eliminate superficial skin problems. They work on all skin types and colors to produce subtle changes, causing no skin color change or scarring. However – these treatments are designed to help restore a healthy glow to your skin and make other procedures such as peels and laser treatments more effective. It is not powerful enough to actually reduce fine lines, tighten skin, remove scarring, or take away brown spots. These problems are better addressed with lasers, injectables, or microneedling. Ask your provider which of these treatments may be right for you!

Can I combine medical grade exfoliation with other treatments?

The answer to that is a resounding yes! Not only can you combine Medical Grade Facials with deeper treatments such as lasers or microneedling - you should! By removing the outermost layer of the epidermis, a Medical Grade Facials allow whatever rejuvenating treatment that follows it to have a deeper and more long-lasting effect. We recommend that every laser treatment be preceded by a Medical Grade Exfoliation for optimal results.
